The 2008 Fresno County & City Elections

Dear Fresno Voter,

Welcome to Fresno 2008 - your guide to the Fresno County and City elections.

All of the candidates who qualify and who will appear on the ballot are invited to submit statements, a photograph and contact information to the Fresno2008.com website - at no cost - so that you, the voter, will have quick and easy access to the information needed to make an informed decision at the polls.

In this election, voters in the City of Fresno will be selecting the Mayor and City Councilpersons in Districts 2, 4 and 6. Voters in Fresno County who live in Districts 2, 3 and 5 will be selecting their representatives to the Board of Supervisors.

Letters inviting candidates to participate in Fresno 2008 by providing us with their statements and photos were sent on Monday, March 19th. We now have candidate statements from:

Paul Dictos, Board of Supervisors District 2

Michael Karbassi, City Council District 2
Andreas Borgeas, City Council District 2

Dear Candidate,

The single most effective way to reach voters is through a statement in the sample ballot that is sent to every registered voter. But that statement can cost hundreds, even thousands, of dollars. The candidate statement is also limited to 200 words—not enough to give the voters a good idea of who you are and what your positions are.

Fresno2008 seeks to change the way things are done by taking money out of the equation and getting serious about presenting detailed information about candidates and their campaigns.
