Dear Registered Voter and Concerned Citizen of Fresno County:

I ask for your vote to represent District 2 on the Fresno County Board of Supervisors.
Why? Because it is time for a change in Fresno Countys governing body. It is time for political responsibility. It is time for fiscal accountability. It is time for ethical leadership to address the countys problems which have slid from balanced budgets and millions in reserves to an historic $2 billion deep hole. It is time to break the cycle of destructive fiscal behavior that has characterized the Board of Supervisors decisions in recent years.
Fresno County is in a fiscal crisis! Yet, the Board of Supervisors denies reality and embraces fiscal fantasy and tooth-fairy budgets.
For 33 years, I have served the Central Valley as a Certified Public Accountant. I listen daily to the problems and concerns of Fresno County residents like yourself, and the stories I hear are ones that entrenched politicians and the media do not want you to hear. Stories of Fresno County households who live in fear of:Crisis conditions with a County Board in a state of confusion;
Crisis conditions as our bonds are downgraded to almost junk status; Crisis conditions as the real deficit approaches $1 Billion; Crisis conditions as our citizens fear more taxes;
Crisis conditions as the retirement systems deficit swells above half a Billion;
These crises conditions are real because the pain that our families feel is real.
I am not a traditional candidate:
I will reject endorsements from organized special interest groups. The only endorsement I seek is your vote.
I will not take PAC (Political Action Committee) money to finance my Campaign. If you so choose, individual contributions onlylimit $500.
As your District 2 Supervisor, my vote will be based upon the facts and your concerns.

I make one promise:
I promise to bring the work ethic and integrity of a Certified Public Accountant to elective office. In my profession, the full disclosure of facts and figures is an ethical imperative. I will serve you as a Fresno County Supervisor with the same propriety and integrity as my accountancy clients receive on a daily basis. As a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of CPAs, and the Board of the Central California Blood Bank, I can do no less.

Now is the time for CHANGE. I ask for your vote on June 3, 2008.
